The Natomas Schools Foundation is a non-profit public benefit organization founded in 2004 to bridge the gap between government funding and district needs in order to maintain educational excellence in the Natomas Unified School District.

COMING UP

OUR 2009-2010 GOALS
With the current economic situation placing our education budgets in jeopardy, the Natomas Schools Foundation is committed to bringing as much financial support to our schools as possible. We are focused on writing more grants and fostering more partnerships that enable us to enrich our students' educational experience here in Natomas.

We are in the process of expanding our grant-writing team to include volunteers from our Foundation, from the school district and the community so that we can become the grant-writing engine for the Natomas educational community. One of the focuses of our grant-writing team is to fund a district-wide Outreach Coordinator position.. This person will be able to develop resources in the Natomas community to provide mentoring, tutoring and volunteers to get involved in our students' schools.

HELP US SAVE OUR SPORTS
The Natomas Schools Foundation is working to help save the sports programs at our Junior and Senior High Schools. State-wide budget woes have impacted sports programs throughout our district. Studies have shown that students who participate in co-curricular activities are three times more likely to have a GPA of 3.0 or better, have higher attendance levels and that teens who are involved in school activities are more likely to be successful in their chosen professions. Being involved in extra-curricular activities, like school sports programs, is a key component to being accepted to colleges around the country. We can't let these benefits slip away from our students.

We are actively seeking donations and grant monies to keep sports in our schools. Funding sports doesn't stop at purchasing balls, helmets and knee pads. A full sports program includes expenses for safety equipment, transportation, field maintenance, uniforms, coaches, trainers, referees, first aid supplies and sometimes even ambulance fees. We urge you to join us in the commitment to Saving Our Sports!

HELP US BRING MUSIC BACK
The Natomas Schools Foundation is actively fundraising to meet the following goals:

1. Provide two choir teachers to lead choirs at each of our schools.

2. To provide a full complement of orchestral instruments for EACH school in our district.

By fostering a love of music, these musicians will then go on to join our band programs at our middle and high schools, strengthening and growing these programs.

We have estimated this will cost approximately $8,000 per campus and we are COMMITTED to achieving this goal. Every little bit helps...no donation is too small to help make a difference in the lives and education of our youth. Please spread the word about this wonderful program! We thank you for your support!
